The Arab League called on international and human rights organizations to move fast to rescue and release Mohamed al Qeeq, the Palestinian detained journalist who has been on a hunger strike since November 24 and whose health is deteriorating.
The Israeli arbitrary administrative detention against al Qeeq should be terminated especially that his is a prisoner of opinion and freedom of expression, Assistant Secretary General for Palestinian Afiars Saeed Abu Ali said Monday.
Qeeq is a journalist who carries out his mission in covering the Israeli practices and violations against the Palestinian people in mass media, he said.
Some 20 detainees are held at Al Ramla Israeli hospital mostly injured, handicapped and suffering pain and medical negligence, he added.
The issue of Palestinian detainees will remain a top priority to the Arab League, he stressed.
