
The Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby expressed his hope that the Syrian parties respond to the call of the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy to Syria Steffan de Mistura to participate in the Geneva meeting to be held in January 25 to find a political solution according to Geneva statement of 30/6/2012.
In a statement issued on Monday, el Araby underlined the importance of ceasing fire according to the decision of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) number 2254, that urges providing a suitable atmosphere to render the political process successful, ending the suffering of the Syrian people and fulfilling their aspirations.
The AL chief voiced support for the efforts of the UN and its special envoy.
