The Arab League Ministerial Council strongly condemned all forms of terrorism on Monday calling on all nations to fight it in every way possible. The Council has welcomed the decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz to fight terrorism by punishing any individual who may engage in conflicts outside the Kingdom, be part of a terrorist group, or show any signs of affection towards any such kinds of extremist groups. The Council also called on governments to take serious measures against all kinds of terrorist blackmail through threats to kill hostages in order to receive ransom. It is of great importance to prevent terrorists from benefitting from ransom money paid to free the hostages or from political concessions, in accordance with the UN Security Council's article number 2133 of January 2014.The Council called on Arab countries which did not ratify agreements related to judiciary, security and cooperation to take this step, mainly the Arab terrorism fighting agreement. Moreover, it had praised the execution of the Arab agreement to prevent money laundering and financing terrorist groups. The Arab League must cooperate with international organizations specialized in fighting terrorism, said the council, adding that it is important to work together to follow the UN's articles regarding the issue.
