At a request by Secretary General Nabil el Araby, the Arab League Council will hold a consultative meeting at the level of permanent representatives on Thursday to discuss the recent terrorist attacks in Sinai that killed a number of military and police officers and soldiers, as well as Egyptian civilians.
The meeting will also tackle the brutal killing of Jordanian pilot Moaz al Kasasbeh, who was burned alive by Daesh militants Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Araby issued a statement condemning in the strongest terms the devious crime committed by Daesh terrorists against the Jordanian pilot.
Such crime violates all international norms and heavenly teachings, Araby said, adding it is a flashback to the dark ages.
Araby regretted the inaction of the UN Security Council and the world community, who failed to live up to their responsibilities in facing the terrorist group that is committing crimes against humanity.
He urged the world community to unite to eliminate terrorism that threatens world peace and security.
