The Arab League (AL) Council reiterated on Thursday support for the constitutional legitimacy in Yemen, represented in President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
In the closing statement of the AL consultative meeting which was held at the level of ِthe Arab permanent delegates, the council said it supports the military operations carried out by the Saudi-led Arab alliance in Yemen.
The council expressed hope that such military operations would bring about stability and security in Yemen, urging the Houthi group to withdraw from Yemeni cities as soon as possible.
The council called for taking urgent measures to handle the dangerous humanitarian situation in Yemen, thanking Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for their financial support for the Yemeni people.
It also thanked the UN envoy to Yemen for his efforts to solve the Yemeni crisis.
