The Arab League Tuesday denied internet news suggesting that secretary general Nabil Al-Araby intended to resign. Al-Araby is exercising his duties normally and will be meeting with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Robert Serry tomorrow, as well as preparing for a visit by an Arab ministerial delegation to Washington, an official source in Al-Araby's office affirmed in press remarks. Informed sources at the Arab League, meanwhile, attributed these "false reports" to a campaign against Al-Araby, who assumed office in July 2011, after the Syrian opposition were granted the seat of Syria.
