Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby condemned a double explosion staged by terrorist Al Shabaab group against two hotels in Mogadishu, leaving several killed and injured.
The recent terror escalation in Somalia requires the security support of the international community to Somali forces and the African Union mission in the country, Araby said in a statement issued late Friday.
He also urged support for the Somali government in its efforts to rebuild state institutions.
The Arab League backs Somalia during this critical phase of its development march and fighting extremism and terrorism, he said.
Two hotels in Somalia's capital - Hotel Weheliye and Hotel Siyad - were attacked Friday in a coordinated plot by Al-Shabaab militants.
