Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el Arabi strongly condemned on Sunday the abduction of Director of Yemeni President’s Office Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, describing this incident as a serious act that targets Yemen's stability and its national unity.
Arabi called for releasing the Yemeni official, asserting that all Yemeni political groups should discard violence and resort to dialogue and peaceful means to settle political differences.
The AL chief urged all Yemeni political powers to back the strenuous efforts made by the Yemeni president to complete the phases of the political process, stressing the AL whole support for Yemen to strengthen state institutions and bring about security and stability.
