Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby said the Arab League is developing an Arab plan of action to counter terrorism in the region.
Addressing the 35th meeting of the Arab Women Committee, Al-Araby noted that the plan would be put forward for discussion in the upcoming Arab summit, to be held in Egypt next March.
He underlined the importance of coordination among Arab and non-Arab countries to get rid of the terrorist groups which threaten the security and stability of the whole world.
Al-Araby recalled the Arab ministerial council's resolution on the fight against terrorism in the region which stated that any plan should tackle the security, economic, ideological and social dimensions of the phenomenon.
Meanwhile, the Arab League's Chief called for relentless efforts to empower Arab women and to protect them, particularly in conflict and volatile areas.
He reiterated the Arab League's eagerness to support Arab women and do all in power to improve their economic and social conditions.
