Arab League (AL) Envoy to Sudan Salah Halima urged on Tuesday the Sudanese government to amend the Arab Charter on Human Rights (ACHR) to keep pace with the recent developments in the Arab region.
In his speech at a ceremony marking the Arab Human Rights Day, Halima congratulated the Sudanese people on their presidential and parliamentary elections, which were held earlier in a free, transparent and democratic atmosphere.
He added that such elections will boost the political and economic process in Sudan.
Halima called on all Sudanese parties to partake in the comprehensive national dialogue in order to solve problems facing the country.
