
- The Arab League on Sunday held a farewell ceremony for UAE Ambassador in Cairo and its permanent delegate to the league Mohammad Bin Nokheira al Zahiri on the expiry of tour of duty in Cairo.
Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Arabi, his deputy Ambassador Ahmed bin Heli as well as Arab delegates accredited to the Arab League attended the ceremony.
The UAE ambassador praised the distinguished relations binding Egypt and UAE since the era of deceased UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan.
The UAE ambassador voiced hope that Arab nations could achieve their aspirations for security, safety and stability.
Arabi, for his part, praised the achievements made by the UAE ambassador during his tour of duty in Egypt.
He also said UAE is considered an example to be followed in scientific progress and civilizational development.
Arabi presented the league's shield as honorary gift to the UAE ambassador.
