
The Arab League is planned to host on Sunday the meetings of the 23rd conference of Arab Inter-parliamentary Union to discuss parliaments’ role to confront current threats and challenges in the region as well as boosting cooperation.
In a press release on Thursday, the AL said the speakers of Arab parliaments are expected to attend the meeting.
Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri is expected to give a speech at the opening session on behalf of Arab parliament speakers.
Also, Kuwaiti parliament speaker Marzouq al Ghanim and outgoing AL secretary-general Nabil al Araby will give speeches at the session.
The conference will also honor Ghanim and Kuwaiti member of parliament Faisal Al-Shaya.
