The Arab League, in cooperation with the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, will organize a conference on regional security and challenges besetting the Arab countries.
The conference, to take place at the Arab League headquarters on February 23-24, will discuss threats to regional security and stability, said Mohamed Ibrahim Shaker, head of the council.
The conference will also discuss nuclear non-proliferation and the repercussions of the inability to put into effect the UN resolution on setting up a nuclear-free area.
The conference, to be attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations and 22 Arab strategic institutes, is the second of its kind to be organized by the Arab League in this domain.
