
The woman, family and childhood department in the Arab League (AL) will organize on Friday a seminar themed "Arab refugees: new challenge to the developmental agenda 2030" in the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York.
The seminar will be attended by the representatives of the bodies concerned with the woman's affairs in the AL and some regional and international organizations.
It will take place on the sidelines of the 60th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
The seminar will tackle the challenges facing women in case of displacement and the violence practiced against the Arab woman with unprecedented form especially in the war-hit areas, according to a statement issued by the AL on Thursday.
The event will discuss also measures taken to guarantee protecting and empowering women via supporting programs aiming at improving their economic status, the statement read.
The seminar targets enabling the international community to get acquainted with the conditions of the Arab women amid the political and social changes witnessed in number of Arab countries.
