The Arab League rejected on Monday the so-called "federal system" in the Kurdish-controlled regions in northern Syria.
In press statements, Deputy Arab League Secretary General Ambassador Ahmed Bin-Helli voiced the league's rejection of such separatist calls that endanger Syria's unity.
Many Kurds rejected these calls, the AL official stressed, adding that the league's adamant principle with respect to the Syrian affairs is based on Syria's unity and regional security.
He furthered hoped that the Syrians - through their ongoing negotiations in Geneva - will find out a political solution to their long crisis that in turn will save the country from the repercussions of ongoing war.
In spite of the non-participation of the Syrian government's delegations in the AL meetings, the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights is still a main item on the AL council's agenda and grabs the Arab attention like other issues related to the occupied Arab lands, he added.
