The Arab League called on Wednesday for rallying efforts to protect intellectual property and promote Arab awareness about this issue.
The pan-Arab body warned of piracy of innovative works that threaten the Arab and world economy and inflict losses on companies and creators.
Assistant Secretary General of Economic Affairs Mohamed Tawijri said all measures should be taken and legislations should be amended to protect intellectual property.
He was speaking at the opening session of a conference on digital creativity on the occasion of celebrations of World Intellectual Property Day.
Over two days, the conference will discuss digital creativity, internet piracy, its forms and its impact on digital environment.
