Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmad Al-Jarwan underscored Sunday the importance of parliament in reviewing Arab conditions, and finding solutions and suggestions to various challenges facing the Arab region.
The four parliament committees play an important role in this regard, Al-Jarwan made his remarks in a statement to KUNA, on the sidelines of the second session of the third legislative term.
Al-Jarwan noted that the parliament is keen in discussing Arab internal affairs and challenges, adding the parliament did discuss many topics of interest.
Among the main topics in discussions were Arab national security, terrorism, the Palestinian issue, women rights, boosting decision-making process and women in media.
For his part, Member of Arab Parliament Faisal Al-Kandari stressed, in a statement to KUNA, on the need to amend the parliament's bylaws.
Al-Kandari, speaking on the sideline of meetings of the Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee, said that they discussed draft bylaw regarding procedures within the parliament to be submitted to the Arab summit.
