Arab Parliament has condemned in strong possible terms the terrorist blasts that targeted the Belgian capital, Brussels, on Tuesday.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, said in a statement issued today that "The Arab Parliament strongly condemns such terrorist acts that are irrelevant to any religion or morality."
He added in a cable to the speakers of House of Representatives and the Senate, that the Arab parliament had warned four years ago in various forums about the risk of spread of the abhorrent terrorism phenomenon. "What is unfolding in the Arab world extends to neighbouring countries."
Al Jarwan called for more serious and joint international action to address this serious scourge on all political, military and social levels. He pledged willingness of the Arab parliament to back a concerted international effort, particularly at the parliamentary level.
