Head of the Arab Parliament Sheikh Ahmad Al Garwan welcomed Wednesday the results of the parliamentary elections announced on Saturday in Morocco.
In a statement, speaker of the pan-Arab parliament congratulated the Moroccan people and government on finalizing the process in a way that was praised by all local and international monitors.
Morocco would continue its way to democracy, giving an example for other countries in the region, the statement said.
The elections, held on 4 September, are also the first since 2011 in which political actors agreed on a final version of the regionalization project, whereby each of the country’s 12 regions will be led by an elected council.
