
President of Arab Parliament Ahmed Al Jarwan, who is also member of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) arrived here on Saturday for a several-day visit to Egypt. Al-Jarwan said that during the visit, he will meet with Egyptian interim president Adly Mansour, interim prime minister dr. Hazem el-Beblawi and other ministers to discuss best means to enhance ties of joint cooperation. The President of Arab Parliament also made clear that he will attend the Arab league ministerial council's meeting slated for this week to discuss the latest developments in Syria especially in light of the failure of the UN Security Council to reach a decision on launching a military strike against the Syrian regime. The UAE was elected president of the Arab Parliament for a three-year term during the first session of the pan-Arab body here to serve a 3-year term. Ahmed Al Jarwan, member of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), won 43 out 54 votes, beating candidates from Bahrain, Egypt and Yemen.
