The Arab parliament held a coordinating meeting on Wednesday under its president Ahmed el Jarwan to discuss an initiative on protecting the rights of refugees, especially the Syrians.
Jarwan, in press statements, said the meeting is of importance as it will set the scene for the meeting of the parliament's human rights committee on the issue of the refugees on Thursday.
The parliament will coordinate with the Arab League as regards regional and international moves to guarantee legal and humanitarian protection for refugees, he said.
He added that the parliament seeks an effective and swift international cooperation to protect refugees in light of repeated violations in many African and Mideast countries.
