Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Jarwan, in an interview with APS on Friday, called for combining efforts as part of the joint Arab action to face the situation prevailing in the Arab region, especially in terms of security.
On a visit to Algeria, al-Jarwan said the situation Arab countries are going through requires combining forces and a joint Arab action as part of cooperation and consultation, mainly in security and sustainable development, in the region.
The Arab parliament calls on Arab peoples, as an "efficient partner" in the development of a joint Arab policy, to combine efforts for the higher interests of the Arab nation and the establishment of democracy, he said.
According to al-Jarwan, the Arab Parliament, in the current situation, has adopted two major principles: non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and the establishment of footbridges among neighbouring countries to convey the message of the Arab street to the international community.
Al-Jarwan stressed that Arab Parliament's principles "agree" with the principles of Algerian diplomacy, which opposes foreign interference in internal affairs of countries and all forms of terrorism financing, including ransom payment to abductors.
The head of the Arab Parliament welcomed the release of the Algerian diplomats who were in captivity in Gao, northern Mali, accrediting the achievement to the "experience of Algerian diplomacy."
