
A number of Arab parliament speakers arrived in Cairo Tuesday to take part in the first conference of Arab parliament speakers.
Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali al Ghanim, Chairman of the Palestinian National Council (PNC) Salim al Zaanoun, Chairman of Bahrain's Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Somali Parliament Speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari, and Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of Qatar Mohamed bin Mubarak al Kholaifi have all arrived in Cairo to take part in the conference, according to security sources at Cairo International Airport.
The conference, entitled "a parliamentary vision to face current Arab challenges", will kick off Wednesday under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the current chairman of the Arab summit.
The conference is scheduled to discuss
a number of issues, especially the Arab national security, measures to confront extremist and terrorist groups, coordination mechanisms to develop a parliamentary vision for the Arab strategic framework for sustainable development.
The conference's recommendations would be presented to the coming Arab Summit.
