Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby welcomed on Monday the outcome of the climate change summit in France which was attended by many world leaders.
In a statement, Araby said the agreement reached by the participants represents a step on the right path to reduce the level of heat on Planet Earth which resulted from gas emission.
Araby also praised efforts by the Arab group to render the conference a success and hailed Palestine's joining of the climate change framework agreement.
UN Chief Ban Ki-moon had termed the historic climate change agreement reached in Paris as a “monumental triumph” for planet Earth that will set the stage for achieving an end to poverty and development for all.
“In the face of an unprecedented challenge, you have demonstrated unprecedented leadership,” the UN Secretary General said taking the COP21 stage just minutes after the adoption of the agreement.
“You have worked collaboratively to achieve something that no one nation could achieve alone. This is a resounding success for multilateralism.”
“The Paris Agreement is a monumental triumph for people and our planet,” Ban said in a tweet, immediately following the adoption of the new Paris Agreement. “It sets the stage for progress in ending poverty, strengthening peace and ensuring a life of dignity and opportunity for all.”
