
The Armed Forces are moving firmly toward development, modernization and upgrading the combat skills of all units of the army in order to protect national security and open new scope for military cooperation with several countries to entrench peace and security and confront challenges besetting the region, said Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi.
During his meeting with a number of officers, non-commissioned and maritime officers along with soldiers of the northern military region, Sobhi hailed the success of the Armed Forces and the police in securing the parliamentary elections and protecting the will of the Egyptian nation.
He also appreciated efforts exerted by the troops of the northern military region and maritime officers during confronting the bad weather which hit a number of coastal cities over the past period.
Sobhi, meanwhile, affirmed the capability of the Armed Forces, which will always be the main pillar to protect national efforts to restore security and stability and attain development and prosperity.
He also appreciated efforts exerted by the Armed Forces to secure homeland and uproot terrorism and extremism at all strategic levels.
