A 49-year-old arms dealer was arrested in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya on Sunday, a statement by the interior ministry said.
As many as 199 pellet guns were seized in his possession, it added.
The seized arms were smuggled from Matrouh through narrow mountainous passages adjacent to the western desert's highway in Minya.
Another women, accompanied by the dealer, was arrested.
