Army: Palestinian killed on Gaza border

Israeli forces on Saturday shot dead a Palestinian they described as acting suspiciously along the border between southern Israel and the northern Gaza Strip. "IDF soldiers observed the suspect meddling with land in the northern area where explosive devices have been used in the past," an army spokeswoman told Ma'an. She said the soldiers fired at the unnamed Palestinian after he failed to respond to warning shots. She also said he was carrying a "suspicious object" but did not elaborate. The military opened an investigation into the incident, she added.
