
Troops and police forces stepped up their presence around the entrances to Greater Cairo on Friday to confront any act of sabotage and any bid to cause riots during the protests of radical Islamist groups.
MENA's reporter said army forces and security troops stepped up deployments on the entrances leading to Cairo, Giza, Qalubiya.
He said more fixed and mobile checkpoints were set up to prevent members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood from infiltrating into Greater Cairo.
Radical Islamists have called on their followers to rally on Friday, asking them to raise copies of the Quran during the protests.
The police and army are vowing to crackdown on any unrest.
