A well informed source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces rejected as baseless reports of a number of electronic websites and other media outlets that Syrian aircrafts violated Jordanian airspace and fired missiles at a number of border sites.
The source said that such incorrect and unconfirmed news lead to confusion and rumours that do not serve well Jordan or its citizens.
"Syrian jet fighters shelled a number of villages near the Jordanian borders but did not violate Jordanian airspace neither did they shell Jordanian lands," it added.
The Jordan Armed Forces, the source said, are fully capable of dealing with any threats to the Kingdom’s security and lands, adding that the Armed Forces will refer all those who published these false news reports to the State Security Court as they harm the country and its citizens.
The source voiced the hope that various media outlets will uphold accuracy and credibility when publishing such news reports by referring to official sources who only have the authority to make statements on such matters.
