Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Tarek Adel received on Monday a delegation of the college of command and staff of Oman.
The team was led by the college's deputy commander Rashid bin Mohammed Al Muqbali with students in membership.
The students are from Oman along with others from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Malaysia.
Cairo is interested in promoting cooperation and coordination with the Arab friendly countries at all levels, particularly in light of current regional developments and Egypt's chairmanship of the Arab League summit, the Egyptian official told the visitors.
As for regional issues, Adel reiterated Cairo's support for a political solution for the Syrian crisis.
Egypt has a firm stance that Syrian must remain unified and independent, he said. Any attempts to divide Syria are rejected by Cairo, he added.
He also called for more efforts to combat terror at the regional and international levels.
