The Awqaf academy for training imams and preachers in Egypt and Islamic world will open as of January, said Awqaf Minister Mohmaed Mokhtar Gomaa.
The academy will be the first Egyptian and international academy to receive all imams and preachers from the various Islamic countries, he added during his meeting Thursday with imams and preachers at the training center, which is affiliated to the ministry.
He also revealed the mission of the new academy, which will teach English, French and German languages.
He, meanwhile, said that the prime minister agreed to grant each imam and preacher at Awqaf ministry a bonus of 1,000 pounds as of January in appreciation of their efforts in renewing religious discourse.
