Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa asserted the important role of science in facing ignorance.
Islamic religion calls for construction and preserving the security and stability of nations, he said.
He made the remarks during the opening session of a conference that is held in Almaty under the title of Islamic education institutions and their role in the evaluation of intellectual deviation.
The conference, organized by the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture here, was also attended by Egypt's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Haitham Kamel and other Egyptian and Kazakh officials.
Gomaa hailed as strong relations binding Egypt and Kazakhstan in various domains, saying the Islamic university here is one of the distinguished features of the bilateral ties thanks to its role in propagating the true image of Islam in central Asia.
Egyptian and Kazakh preachers have great responsibility for spreading the tolerance of Islam and its values as well as rejecting all acts of violence, destruction and killing, the Egyptian Mufti underlined.
Also, all Islamic institutions have a duty to correct the intellectual deviation and face the extremism thought, he said, warning Kazakh youth of dragging into any destructive calls.
