Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said Monday he is following up measures taken regarding the 54 Egyptian pilgrims who died in the stampede that occurred in Mina on Thursday.
This is done through diplomatic and legal channels in light of the good relationship between Cairo and Riyadh, Gomaa said in statements to MENA.
Saudi Arabia is exerting utmost efforts to serve all pilgrims, the minister said.
Gomaa, who leads the official hajj mission, said he will meet with his team in Madina later today to discuss the gathering process of Egyptian pilgrims to guarantee they arrive there safe and sound.
He said he will also meet with some of the Egyptian pilgrims in Madina to listen to their opinion about the hajj trip.
