
Al Azhar on Sunday condemned the kidnapping of three persons including an Egyptian, in southwestern Libya.
In a statement, Al Azhar urged the world community to help in freeing the kidnapped from Daesh and making all efforts to eliminate the terrorist organization.
Al Azhar also expressed full solidarity with the families of the three kidnapped.
"Daesh actions have nothing to do with Islam," the statement said.
Libyan Army Spokesman Mohamed AL Hegazy confirmed on Sunday the kidnapping of three Christian men, including an Egyptian at the hands of Daesh militants in Libya.
Hegazy said that the three persons were abducted in Nofaliya district that considers one of Daesh strongholds in the Libyan city of Sirte.
The Daesh group in Libya posted Saturday on social media a statement showing copies of the three men's passports and also their pictures.
The three men are from Egypt, Nigeria and Ghana.
