Azhar exerts utmost effort to fight extremist groups

Al Azhar is working round the clock to correct the image of Islam and mend all forms of corruption and distortion perpetrated by extremist groups that led to Islamophobia, said a well-placed official with Al Azhar
Al Azhar Undersecretary Abbas Shouman made the remarks Wednesday in a meeting with a Pakistani judiciary delegation.
Al Azhar exerts the utmost effort to spread the tolerant principles and teachings of Islam that aim to instill the values of tolerance and peace among all human beings, Shouman said.
He briefed the delegation on the Azhar role, including its educational and Da'wa bodies as well as its role in teaching the children of Muslims around the world.
