Bahrain's Foreign Ministry condemned on Saturday a blast that hit the Italian consulate downtown Cairo and left one person dead and nine others injured.
"The terrorist act is contrary to all human and moral values, and is a violation of all international laws and norms and an infringement of the immunity enjoyed by the premises of diplomatic missions," the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) cited a statement by the ministry.
The statement extended condolences to the relatives and the family of the deceased and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
According to initial inspection by the Cairo prosecution, the consulate was hit by a car bomb that severely damaged the building.
