
Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima bint Mohammed Al-Balooshi received here today the President of Rehabilitation International (RI)-Arab Region Khalid Al-Mohtar, Deputy RI President Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Sayad and their accompanying delegation.
Khalid Al-Mohtar reviewed with RI’s efforts to activate its initiatives to protect people with special needs, as well as support and rehabilitate them and their families through cooperation with national and international organisations, expressing hope to extend bridges of cooperation between RI and the Social Development Ministry.
The Minister welcomed enhancing cooperation with RI through taking advantage of its expertise in caring for and rehabilitating peoples with disabilities.
She highlighted the Social Development Ministry’s achievements and efforts in the field of disability, citing the inauguration of the National Strategy for People with Disabilities and the official opening of the Abdulla bin Ali Kanoo Diagnosis and Disability Evaluation Centre, among many others.
Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation Badriya Al-Jeeb, Director of Public Relations Fatima Mahmoud and Director of Social Rehabilitation Muna Al-Ghatam were present.
