
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received the Republic of Sudan’s Presidential Envoy and Minister of Investment, His Excellency Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, at Riffa Palace.
After welcoming Dr Ismail, His Royal Highness received a letter for His Majesty the King from Sudan’s President, His Excellency Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir. Dr Ismail conveyed the President’s greetings to His Majesty and his wishes for Bahrain’s progress and prosperity under the King’s leadership.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness praised the strong historic bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sudan, emphasising the efforts of both countries to continue enhancing the relationship through increased cooperation.
In this regard, His Royal Highness highlighted the recent bilateral agreement concerning agricultural and livestock investments, which aims to enhance Bahrain’s food security. He noted that such initiatives were part of wider efforts to cooperate on development projects, which would benefit the citizens of both countries.
His Royal Highness then asked Dr Ismail to convey His Majesty’s and His Royal Highness’s greetings to the President and people of Sudan, wishing them further progress and development.
In response, Dr Ismail expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness and praised him for his role in further strengthening bilateral ties between Sudan and the Kingdom.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, also attended the meeting.
