Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa left Tunisia after taking part, on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, in the international anti-terrorism march which was led by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, in the presence of heads of states, governments and their representatives.
The Deputy Premier was seen off at Carthage International Airport by Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid. He conveyed to Essid greetings from Bahrain's leadership and people and deepest condolences in the wake of the terrorist attack which targeted Bardo Museum, leaving dozens of innocent people dead and injured.
In a statement, he stressed Bahrain's supportive stance, wishing Tunisia and its people further development and progress under the leadership of President Essebsi. He warned against the scourge of terrorism which threatens the security and stability of all Arab peoples, stressing the need for Tunisia to continue work so as to ensure more achievements and combat heinous extremist ideas.
He stressed the large international participation in the march "With Our Unity We Defeat terrorism", saying that the world's solidarity would only make Tunisia stronger and more resolved to combat terrorism and violence with international support. "Tunisia has succeeded in winning international support and solidarity by engaging the world", he said, describing the massive march as a message that Tunisia is a peaceful country.
