
Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Jose Graziano Da Silva and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning Dr. Jum’a bin Ahmed Al-Ka"bi and the Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa.The two sides stressed the importance of the dossier of food security as top priority for the governments of all countries throughout the world, including Bahrain and explored ways and means for the Kingdom of Bahrain to benefit from the international Organization’s expertise in fisheries to enrich the national experience with latest accredited research in this field as well as the use of salt water in local farms.Da Silva expressed the Organization’s readiness and welcoming of cooperation with Bahrain and the provision of all forms of technical support to the Kingdom of Bahrain especially fisheries and salt water farming techniques.The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) aims to enable countries to find more efficient and comprehensive farming and nutrition techniques.
