The High Elections Committee and judges of the supervisory committee in charge of overviewing elections in the governorates convened here today.
The participants expressed satisfaction over the advanced organisation of the elections, and lauded the smooth and easy procedures ensured for voters, commending, in this regard, the efforts of the Executive Committee of the Elections.
Judges of the High Committee and supervisory ones urged to distance houses of worship from being exploited in the elections by supporting candidates against others or serving political tendencies, be it through fatwas, intimidation or accusations of treasons.
They stressed the need to intensify close follow-up of the religious discourse to prevent any attempts to affect the voters' will, and preserve the sanctity and status of religious pulpits.
They called on NGOs to take part in those national efforts and monitor attempts to use religious platforms for electoral purposes in order to preserve the rights of all and ensure fair, transparent and free competition for all.
They praised the popular interest in the elections, in light of the existing positive atmosphere, which will enable voters to choose the most qualified candidates who can develop national gains.
It is to be noted that the door will open from October 15 to 19 for nominations to be submitted to competent committees in different electoral constituencies across Bahrain.
