
Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met here today the Shura Council’s Foreign, Defence and National Security Affairs Committee, led by Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
They discussed the latest developments, within the framework of the constant coordination and cooperation between the legislative and executive branches in the Kingdom.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the chairman and members of the Foreign, Defence and National Security Affairs Committee at Shura Council.
He praised the role of the Shura Council in protecting the security and interests of the Kingdom and its people and promoting the Kingdom’s regional and international position.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of the continued joint coordination and cooperation, affirming the Ministry’s keenness to strengthen and enhance these relations so as to further consolidate joint productive cooperation that best serve the Kingdom’s interests in all fields.
The Chairman and members of the Foreign, Defence and National Security Affairs Committee praised the Ministry’s efforts to protect the Kingdom’s achievements as well as its citizen’s interest abroad.
Shaikh Khalid commended the Ministry’s continuing cooperation with the Shura Council and updating its members with the latest regional and international developments.
They discussed the key regional issues and current tensions that have severe repercussions on the region's security and stability, in particular, the situation in Syria and Iraq.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain's diplomatic efforts in promoting and protecting Human Rights through following up and contacting the United Nation member States and Organisations to correct fabricated information and misleading information on the Human Rights situation in Bahrain.
The Minister affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain on consolidating cooperation with all countries as it believes that cooperation is the only way to build outstanding relations based on mutual respect with the rest of the world.
