
Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part today in the ministerial breakfast meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) which was chaired today by Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly meeting.
The Foreign Minister delivered a speech in which he thanked members of the ACD Forum for their support to Bahrain during the period of its presidency of the forum from 2013 to 2014. He said that support reflected a common vision concerning the importance of joint Asian work for a more prosperous future.
He lauded the key role of ACD Secretary General Bundit Limschoon and the Kingdom of Thailand in providing continuous support and assistance, pointing out the importance of Turkey's accession to ACD.
At the end of the meeting, the Foreign Minister handed over the presidency of the ACD Forum to his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Al Faisal wishing him every success.
