
The Governor of the Northern Governorate, Ali Ibn Al-Sheikh Abdul-Hussain Al-Asfoor, said that the responsibility of MPs municipal councilors begins as soon as they have won the confidence of their constituents.
The Governor who voted at the ballot box in Hamad Town Boys' Secondary School told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that huge tasks await the winners because Parliament and the municipal councils are expected to achieve a great deal of citizens' aspirations and that everybody should participate in the progressive revival march led by His Majesty the King and also expected to address issues within the spirit of the one Bahraini family.
Al-Asfoor expressed gratitude to Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa citing his efforts and the MOI's efforts in ensuring the safety of the whole electoral process.
The Governor also thanked the Chairman of the High Elections Committee Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa and the Head of Legislation and Legal Opinion Authority also Executive President of Elections Commission Abdullah Al-Buainain, all security and polling stations officials, magistrates, observers and candidates, commending citizens' turnout and participation in voting.
