
National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Vice President Abdulla Ahmed Al-Dirazi attended the sixth session of the Arab Human Rights Committee (Charter Committee) which was assigned to discuss the first report on Iraq.
The meeting was held on December22-23 at the Arab League General-Secretariat in Cairo, Egypt. Iraq Human Rights Minister Dr. Mohammed Mahdi Amin Al-Bayati headed the his country's delegation. The two-day meeting discussed the extent of the commitment of the Iraqi State to the provisions of the Arab Human Rights Charter. A total fourteen Arab countries have so far endorsed the Arab Human Rights Charter which took effect in 2009.
