Bahraini King receives al-Azhar grand imam

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today in SukhairPalace, received Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Sherif, on the sidelinesof the Dialogue among Civilizations and Cultures Conference. HM the King commended Al-Azhar leading role supporting Arab and Islamic issuesand in maintaining Muslims ideological fabric.HM the King highlighted Bahrain's keenness to bolster cooperation with Al-Azhar inall areas to promote Islam and Muslims in scientific, religious and educationalfields.HM the King hailed Al-Azhar Grand Imam's supportive stances toward the Kingdomof Bahrain and contributions to enrich the Arab and Islamic Library with researchesand studies, as well as his invitations to disseminate Islamic principles andadopting dialogue and cooperation approaches in addressing disputed issues.The parties discussed Islamic issues and underscored coordination among Arab andIslamic countries to achieve solidarity and confront challenges.Al-Azhar Grand Imam praised HM the King's solid stances on Arab and Islamicissues.
