The Parliament committee in charge of the Government Action Plan (GAP) 2015-2018 has recommended approving GAP following 18 meetings, including three with the relevant government team.
Meeting here today under the chairmanship of MP Ali Abdulla Al-Aradi, the panel endorsed GAP and the amendments introduced to it during its meetings with the representatives of the government, and decided to submit its final report to the Representatives Council on Tuesday.
Al-Aradi extended sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the mastermind of the Reform Project and the democratic march in the kingdom, for the landmark achievements attained thanks to the National Dialogue’s constitutional amendments under which the Representatives Council was granted wide powers, including the consolidation of popular participation in the decision-making process through allowing it to study GAP and grant its confidence to it.
He also expressed sincere gratitude to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for his support and directives, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for his constant follow-up.
Al Aradi paid similar tribute to Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla for his constant follow-up and continuous contacts with the committee members to encourage them to reach consensus for the benefits of the nation and the citizens.
He also praised the outstanding role and patriotism of the panel members for their tremendous efforts during the discussion of GAP over the past 27 days.
He lauded the fruitful cooperation and patriotism of the government team, led by the Minister of Follow-up Affairs Mohammed Al-Mutawa, praising the professionalism of the Parliament’s Secretariat-General.
He also thanked all those who had contributed to the work of the committee through submitting visions and proposals, including social functions, Bahrain Radio and Television Corporation and social media networks.
