
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has issued Edict 13/2015 on re-forming the National Committee for Combating Drugs.
Chaired by the Interior Minister, the panel comprises the Ministers of Education, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Health and Information Affairs, Customs Affairs President, Southern Governor, Inspector-General at the Interior Ministry, and General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) President as members. The Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science Director-General will be the committee’s Rapporteur.
The edict stipulates that the panel Chairman may invite whoever he deems appropriate to attend the committee meetings whenever need arises in order to listen to their views and use them. The attendees shall not have the right to vote during the meetings.
The edict also stipulates that any text that contradicts the new provisions will be cancelled.
