
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today issued Edict 8/2015, re-structuring the Civil Defence Council.
Chaired by the Interior Minister, the panel will comprise ministers of Energy, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Health, Industry and Commerce and Information Affairs, and the Supreme Council for Environment President as members. The Director-General of Civil Defence at the Interior Ministry will be the council's rapporteur.
The edict stipulates that the Interior Minister may, upon the cabinet's approval, expand the membership of the council. The panel may set up permanent or temporary committees to examine issues of interest.
The edict shall be effective as per the date of its issuance.
