His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today a number of newly-elected members of the Council of Representatives, led by Abdulla bin Huwail and Isa Abdulajabbar Al-Kohaji.
HRH Premier congratulated the new MPs on the trust bestowed on them by the Bahraini citizens, who elected them freely to represent them in the "House of the People", expressing confidence in their ability to shoulder their national responsibilities.
"We will join hands in the all-inclusive national work to protect the kingdom's security, enhance its stability and boost its renaissance and prosperity," he said.
He described the success of the electoral process as a success of the Bahraini democracy and a victory of the will of the people, which, he stressed, is a source of honour and pride.
He affirmed that the government will keep its doors wide open for members of the Representatives Council, pledging every support to them in order to be able to exercise their legislative and supervisory roles.
He said he is looking forward for a wider government-parliament cooperation in the coming period, especially regarding security, stability and combating terrorism, wishing them every success in achieving the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He pointed out that the kingdom is on the eve of a new phase of "fruitful" national action thanks to the common desire of the government and the Representatives Council to cooperate with each other fully.
He warned against evil plots to sow divide among the one Bahraini people by those who are not satisfied by the Kingdom's political and economic success, stressing that the Bahraini people's vigilance and awareness will thwart those plots, as was the case with previous ones.
The new MPs lauded HRH Premier's keen interest to enhance Executive-Legislature cooperation, which, they said, indicates that national achievements will increase in the coming period.
They asserted that HRH Premier has always cooperated with the Representatives Council, and responded quickly to MPs' proposals that emanated from the people.
